Bio

There are so many freelance writers out there, why work with me?

I put my clients first, write engaging content that readers connect with, get things done on time and am easy to work with. Oh, and I also know my stuff. Words, yes, but the things that are relevant to businesses and readers, too.

Here are my best practices:

* An understanding of business and marketing strategy

* Great writing tailored to your audience

* On-time delivery (no pizza though, sorry about that)

* Open dialogue to ensure what I’m delivering is filling your needs

You’ve seen my work on personal finance sites and trade magazines. In addition to writing for businesses, I do a lot of pieces on the financial industry, banking and personal finance. I’m a staff writer at Wise Bread, one of the most highly ranked personal finance sites on the web, and previously covered the banking industry for About.com. While financial journalism is my niche, I’ve written on everything from environmental issues, travel, and taxes to British sports cars. I do copy writing, blogs, marketing and business to business (B2B) communication materials.

Before becoming a writer full-time, I spent over 6 years working in the finance industry. Experience with a broad spectrum of clients and investments gives me valuable insight on how the banking and investment industry works, and the personal finance challenges people face every day. While working, I studied English and economics at Georgia State University.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy cooking, painting, really boring documentaries, live music and being walked by my dog. I’m a delegate to the Global Financial Dignity Summit for the Atlanta chapter of Operation HOPE, an advocacy group for financial literacy.

(I’d say I enjoy candlelit dinners and long walks on the beach, but I’m extremely nearsighted and try to avoid the sun due to years of conditioning by my mother.)
